📚My 2024 Lessons

2024 has been a year of huge growth for me. Started off with a study trip to Bangkok and now I am closing in on 5 months in San Francisco. Along the way, I walked across Singapore(50km), explored to six U.S. states, four National parks and and even got the initial users for my startup, FoloUp.

I've been writing down my major lessons this year on a Notion page and I've decided to share them here. Since not being concise is a crime these days, I'll keep them short and to the point.

1. Take the time to understand how a machine works before you start using it.

2. Peer groups can be very powerful, often in wrong ways. No one is immune to peer pressure, so choose your peers wisely.

3. Everything in life boils down to thinking from other people's perspectives.

4. You don't always have to be honest in the moment.

5. People have hard conversations with you because they care about you.

6. Always go to the funeral.

7. Lots of options is too bad. Most of the time, narrowing them down to two helps.

8. Always assume that people know things when talking about something.

9. Some times inconveniences simply cannot be eliminated. Learn to live with them.

10. At this age, say yes to new things unless they are illegal, immoral, unethical or you have a really strong opinion against it.

P.S.: Most of these are lessons from my own experiences, while a few come from videos and articles I've read.
